 #NaPoWriMo2018 Day 7 prompt by Poetry Cafe KL #NaPoWriMo Today I'm teaching sonnets to 8th Graders. You can write one too. Topic: Astrophysics, science, the future . Easy peasy! Biology is as close to Science as I could get in attempts of writing this poem Spenserian Sonnet Invented by sixteenth century English poet Edmund Spenser, cribs its structure from the Shakespearean—three quatrains and a couplet—but employs a series of "couplet links" between quatrains, as revealed in the rhyme scheme: abab, bcbc, cdcd, ee. When we open our eyes in the dark Pupils enlarge trying to find light Neurons in the brain fire sparks Our form goes into flight or fight. Unable to see what is in our line of sight Our body is served a shot of Adrenaline No way of telling left from right Dodging what we think we have seen.
