Hour Glass V1.0

This piece derives from an image that I got during worship a few Sunday's ago about the condition my life in relation to my problem with depression and anxiety. During the workshop with Bill Moran, I turned used this image for the exercise where we needed to place words in spaces, using time as a erosion, Links to the workshop and more information can be found here . Fine grounded porcelain powder weaving across and through shallow channels of dry dessert land, crackled and shattered with dense solid clay, unbreakable, unmovable unwilling to shift. Above and  beyond the horizon is a massive intense thunder storm arising and spreads across the landscape. It roars fiercely but is not threatening but soft drizzling appears at first then turns into pouring drowning rain   nursing the land like tears wetting dry course lips that has been thirsty for taste and life. Seeds in the ground submerge by sorrow, hurt. Not new seeds but dormant...

SY: Scars Turned Beautiful

NaPoWriMo Day 4 Prompt taken from  Spill The Ink Poetry Lab by  If Walls Could Talk KL " Write a poem using a line or verse from a song that you love!" Using the lyrics from " Scars To Your Beautiful " by ALESSIA CARA as response and using my words to respond to her lines. #2017inkedwallsday04 #2017inkedwallsprompt04 #NaPoWriMo2017 #NaPoWriMo #NPWM Why do you defile the walls of your holy temple? "She just wants to be beautiful." The comments of acquaintances and strangers are ample. "She craves attention, she praises an image." The pain resembles repetitive scrapping of a blunt scalpel. "So she tries to cover up her pain, and cut her woes away." I live not by judgement or instruction but by example. "She goes unnoticed, she knows no limits." "She prays to be sculpted by the sculptor." It is true that my body was sculpted by God. "Oh she don't see the light that's...

Christmas

I. You asked me when my God had died, I said, "Why, on the day of Atonement." Yet we both knew, that deeper still, the question lay unanswered. You asked me when my God did rise, I said, "Why, three days after Calvary." The answer came as winsome as those Sunday mornings I did not go to church. You asked me who my God had saved, I said, "Why, sinners all around us." Straight in your eye I looked, but saw no damnation there. You asked me when my God had come, "Why, Christmas Day - but you knew that." When would He come? "No date is set." Will I be there? "I do not know." Will you be there? "I dare not go." II. You asked me when my God had died, I should have said, "Why, when I lied Lied that I believed in Him, While in my heart I knew not Him." You asked me when my God did rise, I should have said, "I must admit, Admit that though ...

Piece of Junk

My life is a messed up junk filled with junk. I had a moment to check my life and see what kind of vessel I am and what I had allow to fill my vessel. Moved by a sharing from the Planet Shakers Conference 2016 - Awakening . A vessel, smashed beyond recognition, Broken with collapsible cracks, Pieces that do not seem to fit anymore, Grounded ash of porcelain powder, It is a mere junk residing in the slums, Defamed from it's former glory. Tossed around by violent currents, Drenched in rain of sorrows, Carried away by hurricanes and twisters, Dust of what was once known, Scattered in altered dimensions, Scavenged by scallywags and pirates. I am in need to rest at Your docks, Not tempted by the world's distractions, You know my ins and outs, The days of my future and past, The currents of my thoughts, And the storms of my heart. The depths of my heart are evident, You need not struggle to uncover, It's every structure is known by You, Only You...

His Love is Everything

Revisiting the things that made me who I am this month. A lot of the past has made me who I am today and in a sense defined me. A revelation and experience with God's love was a game changer and that goes with out saying. There was once a time I was at the edge, I stood there at life's ledge, In every direction that I turn, I saw all the bridges I needed to burn. Then I saw the love of the Lord, He spent all that He could afford, He erased every sin in my record, Just when I thought I would jump overboard. Because of Him, I can stand tall, Faithfully He picks me up when I fall, Every day I want to give Him my all, Just to be able to answer His call. His love is everything to me and you, I'll have His love in mind in everything I do, His love is true, I'll let it be so, Where He goes, there I will go. - SY 25th October 2011 Karl Marx 15, Kursk, Russia

Hope Glimmers, Faith Holds

When a door closes, The light glimmers, Awaiting for time that passes, Awaiting for the rain that showers. As hope fades, I wonder what will remain, Like watching a glade, Burnt to ashes- remain. But I was told to hold on to faith, To wield it like a knight's blade, Cut down the many wraiths, Stand by you Lord's grace parade. For you shall remember, that this day, Was your Lord's beautiful play. - Tejh

Light

The new year is just around the corner. After having a sit down chat with one of my very, very good friends, we both got wired to write and came up with some lines for my Post-It Poem. Then it progress to grow into this. Written for the times we were in darkness for too long and it is time to look towards the new light. The eclipse will soon end and upon the Earth the sun's light will shine again, Thus ends my struggles with the darkness, Here the chapter closes with forgiveness, The tearing of my soul shall cease & so will my pain. No longer the need of enduring duress in hoping for some kind of gain, Attempting to uphold a pointless love in vain, As there truly nothing left of what remains, The light embraces me with warmth, I am now, free & sane. -  SY and A Special Friend 05:25H 2nd December 2015 61 Wong Clan + Slim River

Give. Love. Live.

Tis the season of Christmas! So goes the phrase, 'It is better to give than to receive'. Many times we either give too much or get taken advantage of our kindness. AD and I murmur about our giving and how it should flows out of the goodness of God. When will I learn that I should never give, What isn't worth giving, Ignoring the countless chances to live, The life I should be living. Think of it as great to give when there is nothing to gain, To continue that sacrifice even if it causes you pain? At times it is better to refrain, Or else there would be nothing left that remains. I am more glad that you are a natural at that, It does come as second nature to be exact, Giving is better than receiving, a well known fact, Any small act of kindness will leave a great impact. Yes, even more so when you are in pain, It does lead me to questions if I am insane. You are only sane if you can feel the pain! It's best to leave things as simple and plai...

Emerge

Image
This piece is written for those who will be going for HSG's EMERGE camp that started today. Take my word for it, it will be the life changing experience you need go emerge from where you are to glory from glory . Emerge: 1. To move out from something and become visible. 2. To become apparent prominent. 3. To recover or survive a difficult situation. Are we of no value? Uncensored, uncultured, Rude and crude, No respect for the words of the pew. Are we a people of empty space, Differentiation of race, Nothing deeper than the surface. Taking things at our own pace. The fact is, you are running a race, Just run at your own pace, You will emerge champions, Fighting the good fight of faith. Are we... a group that walks aimlessly in life? Feeling like we are just running away, Not knowing the way we should go, So undecided, unable to say ‘yes’ or ‘no’. They say... We are so tempered with the way we feel, Just going with the flow, Conformed to t...

Place of Your Presence

The place where I find peace and strength to go on every day is when I spend time in God's presence. It is where I leave all my burdens, leave all that pulls me down and where I fill my heart with love again. During that quiet time with God is where my soul finds rest and my mind is made clear. Is there a place for the insane to be sane? Is there a place where patients won't feel pain? Is there a place for the weary to be strengthened? Is there a place for the obtuse to be enlightened? Is there a place for the lost to belong? Is there a place where people get along? Is there a place where none do you wrong? Is there a place for us to sing our song? There is a place, a very safe place, Filled with hope, peace and grace, Where the past disappears without a trace, A place where I see Your face. A place where you are there, You are omnipresent everywhere, Through the darkness I can bear, It is Your armour that I will wear. Glory, glory to you alone...

His Light Will Shine

No matter what happens in life and what may come in Your way , there is only one thing that remains the same , yesterday , today and forever more . That one thing is God . His love won't waver , it's unconditional and it doesn't change depending on what you have done or will do . He is the rock which keeps me steady in the midst of adversities . Right above me a grey cloud, The thunder roaring aloud, The dark sky's enclosing shroud, Still I stand strong and proud. Should I search for shelter? As people run helter-skelter, The winds begin to whirl swifter, Still I stand with my svelter. Am I without fear? For these storms that draw near, There I am at the pier, Still thinking if my life is dear. I may not see the cloud's silver lining, For God's light I am still finding, His love is forever binding, Still for Him I am longing. Indeed I know, storms He will calm, Through it all...
