This Is Malaysia

Recently Swit Marie has gotten more active on the HitRECord platform and started working on new material and collaborations. This was definitely the highlight of 2020 for her years of writing in the past few years. Reaching an international audience and being part of a community of creatives through this project involving over 180 contributors. The piece that was submitted for the This Is Malaysia video by HitRECord was derived from Dragon Tail . This Is Malaysia  final script remixed by Matt Conley from 8 contributors. This I s Malaysia video. The morning sun greets the mist of the hills, Joy seeps into my lungs as the morning dew kisses my cheeks, Peppercorn scents sing melodies of what the day could be. Waking up to the clouds embracing the mountain ranges This is where my heart belongs My fingertips touch the sparkle in the air made by the sun rays that love the mist My shoulders rise with the lightness of the sunrise. A symphony of swallows sifting through the clouds, Murmur...

Dragon Tail

I've been writing trying to incorporate nature in my pieces and this one was inspired by a beat created by Netuno . It had a very Mario vibe to it and reminded me of the tugs and toils of him and Princess Peach. I had just watched How to Train Your Dragon recently and imagined dragons in soaring and roaming in the lands of Sarawak. This piece was adapted for a HitRECord submission Prompts from  Makhluk Seni  for WELP, a movement to 'weaponise' love in all forms of expression. Prompts were released throughout the month of February for writers to submit any short form of writing. Prompt 24: So Sit Down Do you have a story to tell?  So sit down.  Overwhelmed by ghosts from the past? Duduk kejap.  Sit. Down. Breathe. Write. Tell us Yours through the click clacks of your keyboard and the slow drying of ink on parchment as you recollect your stories of Love. #PACT2 #WELPPACT (A mashup of Sarawak, Mario and How To Train Your Dragon) Waking up to the clouds embracing t...

Remember

Prompts from  Makhluk Seni  for WELP, a movement to 'weaponise' love in all forms of expression. Prompts were released throughout the month of February for writers to submit any short form of writing. This piece is a challenge to incorporate more natural elements and marrying them with the different modes of functionality that I used to have before I crossed over to being challenged mentally and the feeling of being disabled. Prompt 6 : Would my younger self have We change. That's a fact. Remember when you hated veggies, or decided to change uni courses, or when your pet left this Earth Change is unavoidable, but sometimes you think about the what if's. So what are your what if's? Treat it like a love letter to yourself #WELPPACT   #PACT2 A fleet of storks glazed the night sky so smoothly Remember that state of flight Caramel sparrows murmuring in the clouds Remember that phase of life Majestic albatross flying like it owns the sky Remem...

NaPoWriMo: Infinity Wars

#NaPoWriMo2018  #Day28 prompt by Poetry Cafe KL #NaPoWriMo #epitaph #death Write an epitaph in memory of the death of all or any of the following - yourself, the world, a dream, an idea, a person, an everyday object, anything that you loved but has now been laid to rest #RIP Today the sun sets over unfinished journals and unwritten scripts of stories that would only be known to those who were in the battle, tucked away in the folds of disappointment, layers of regret and ashes of defeat. The light dims over many obstacles, broken bones and broken spirits of the voices that faught its way through the caves and valleys only to be silenced by time, space, reality, power, mind and soul. - Swit Marie 1819H 30th April 2018 Taman Bahagia

Imagine, The Unknown

To imagine is to picture; to have vision; to form an image in your mind about some thing; about anything without the limitations of what we know and understand. I wrote this thinking if I did not think and imagine my words instead, maybe this is what it will look like. I imagine with my eyes open, So that I can actually see The thoughts that are yet to be formed The ideas that pierce through my cornea into the air that recycles through my lungs The layers of unrefined gems still covered in dust and ash on the shelves of my mind Waiting to be picked up and given a chance to shine. The windows of my soul are the dreams that invade the dark and stormy nights When my eyes are closed shut Tight from the shy moonlight that peaks through the window pane. No cotton candy clouds or sparkling glitter seas or unicorns that prance with multi-colour manes that is now a trending flavour of sweet things and desserts. Stories that burn pages and lines ...

SY: Roses Are Rey

For today's Challenge Tuesday, I took up the challenge of writing a Star Wars themed Valentine's Day poem. In a galaxy far, far away, Lived was a young lass By the name of Rey Who never had the best. She ventured and roamed The empty lands of Jakku In search for a home, With her Hellhound Two. You could say it was fate Or that the Force was strong with her That led her through Maz' s gate, To a place where many gather. Stumbled upon a saber That belonged to a sky walker Destined by her forefathers Or just stories of a day dreamer. She gazed at this unfolding saga, A growing union with the light With the support of Chewbacca, She learned to love and fight. -Swit Marie 1030am 14th February 2017 Stadium Arena

Pool A Fast One On Me And You Would Be Dead

Image
Comic books have been a big part of my life. My current obsession is none other than Marvel's Deadpool. The movie was utterly enjoyable and I was blown away by all the fun the screenwriters had. Disclaimer: All characters and references to the movie belongs to MARVEL and FOX studios. His silhouette stands in the light, Body suit crisp, compact and tight, The curvy edges that matches so right, Breaking the silence then he is out of sight. Bullet holes and cuts heal the same, But this heart break, only Ajax is to blame, It just takes a little time, rest and Bactin, Maybe some therapeutic time with the the Kullen . Red is definitely his colour, Stitched perfectly in the lines of the rich Corinthian leather, Passion that goes well with his humour, A vigilante who gets his jobs at the parlour. Decapitations and amputations are abundant, As his search for Francis goes rampant, Breaking the fourth wall happens ever so often, Good thing is his jokes never go...
