Stars On A Seabed

Prompts from Makhluk Seni for WELP, a movement to 'weaponise' love in all forms of expression. Prompts were released throughout the month of February for writers to submit any short form of writing.

This was written with another new sample from Blanketfren playing in the background on loop. It is becoming a very interesting exercise because as I write, I heard different accents in the sound that influences either the choice of words or direction the phrase takes. I am so glad that there is inspiration to finished these pieces that have been stagnant for some time.

Prompt 21: Like oceans...
The ocean is a beautiful place, full of wonder and miracle.⠀
Or it could be a terrifying place, full of mysterious creatures. Perhaps it pulls and pushes you, like the waves by the beach.⠀

We think that love can be like the ocean. What do you think? Write to us.⠀

The skies are always perfect
even during a storm
A consistent reminder that nothing stays constant
Tossing darts in the sky
Watching it ascend up high
At its peak we imagine!

The feeling when you experience
zero gravity
on a swing
or a roller coaster
When you reach a high in full suspension

A release
Free falling
into a spiral
Landing straight in the ground
Its tip planted
That pin point
where dew of memories leak out
and mix with the soil
Seeping in between the marbles
Like mermaids weaving
between nets of seaweed
Tangled but not caught
Weaving and not trapped
Sea monkeys cartwheel in suspension
Recurrent in its cycle
Unable to move past the swirl of undersea.

Rain pouring like a thunderstorm
under a shelter hearing every drop
splatter the roof over your head
Thunder and lightning snap
Causing a silence that rings in your ear
A boom clap like an aftershock after a sonic wave passes.

Riveting in the most unexpected way
Crescent moons do not know how to say goodbye
Too young and bent
They have not seen enough brightness
To know the full potential of themselves
Curves hidden by the scales on their eyes.

From an hour to a day
In the start of the morning sun
Till the end of the revolving moon
An eclipse takes over
Leaving all in the shadows
Like angler fish
They find their way
Making light where there is none
Day may look like night
wrongs surround us left and right
Breath in the stars and know
We are never alone in the darkness.
