Prompts from Makhluk Seni for WELP, a movement to 'weaponise' love in all forms of expression. Prompts were released throughout the month of February for writers to submit any short form of writing.

Living in a world without borders and boundaries can be an interesting dynamic. Where there are no limits and the ability to be ourselves and do what we long to do.

The city is both calming and chaotic, maddening and magical. The city is where you grow, learn, find yourself, find others.

Where would you venture if there were
no boundaries between lands
borders and brinks.

Taking more than the allocated
Slots and portions
Rations and trickling pollutions
Seep into the air tainting its purity.

We retract and hold back
Knowing limits aren’t respected
Where is the restriction we place
The walls need to be raised.

Windows that allow us to peek out
Seeing the outside beyond the wave
Making the pressure ease a little bit more.

Then hope arises with the currents
from beneath the rocks and stones
Sands shifted as the tides manoeuvers.

Then when the coast is set
It takes a readiness for change
A new fresh tone that allows rejuvenation.

Then I could love you like turtles
that return to its shores when they will life to begin.

This Is Malaysia

Recently Swit Marie has gotten more active on the HitRECord platform and started working on new material and collaborations. This was definitely the highlight of 2020 for her years of writing in the past few years. Reaching an international audience and being part of a community of creatives through this project involving over 180 contributors. 2020

I  wrote this on the flight travelling back to Malaysia in 2020, leaving Australia after what would have been the last time I see the person that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. I was observing the people around me, it was an 8 hour flight with a lot of turbulence, who would have know that 2020 would be that kind of year as well. It is funny how things tell you of what will come in its own little ways.
