Growing Seeds

In the month of April 2020, Makhluk Seni kicked off #HomegrownMakhlukSenis with 10 days of prompts, mindfulness activities and goals to help us get through the isolation.

This is a prose from a flow of consciousness where I dive into the core of what goes through my mind on a daily basis. It's a constant cycle of these thoughts and many would say that I am too complex for my own good. It comes from the endless processing of possibilities to ensure what would be the best outcome.

Day 9 Seeds of Me Seeds. From the wind that spread them far beyond, to the soil that nourished them by the pond.⠀

Dear Makhluk Seni, we ask you: Out of all the seeds in you, which one made your favorite part about you?

Dear Journal,

Living day to day and finding sense in uncertainty because inherently difficult when things all seem to revolve around tasks and circumstances that don't have an end. Being a goal-driven and task-oriented person, this throws off the ability to find closure on a daily basis. The challenge to gauge progress and altering the understanding of what defines moving forward becomes bleak. Existential crisis becomes more apparent because what I deem as purpose and reason to exist either regressed into something undeniably unavoidable or loses its permanence. Habits take time to build and I find myself forging a habit of clinging on to things of temporal value just because the fear of committing to something will get snatched away due to the uncertainty of circumstances. Outgrowing old habits become more challenging because everything changed and living in the old ways seems to be the only thing I can do to extend a sense of control. Those roots birthed from seeds of insecurities, knowing the truth and the lines of a tree that have grown over decades are tangled and we know that uprooting won't do well for life. Coming this far along, what can be done is to keep pruning the branches from above, optimize the environment and manage expectations. I can't replant this tree but I can plant the seeds of the fruits of my labour, find new places for the fruit that exist and plan that orchard well. Allow those seeds to take root in good ground and let it exist in better conditions.
