Peace in the Midst of Turbulence

I was recently challenged by a good poet friend of mine with this prompt (paraphrased from his words):

Have you ever had a surreal experience of in your life? Something that leaves you feeling blissed-out, ecstatic beyond words, yet you couldn't explain or describe it no matter how hard you try? Logic fails, and yet in your experience, it's real, not hallucinatory? It is not induced by any form of external stimuli. For the experience to happen, there should be a source. It could be the place, the act, the thought at the time, or all these happening at once.

It looks like my place of euphoria is finding comfort in the midst of turbulent chaos. Thank you, The Pseudo Poet, for working with me on this one.

The gradient sea calmly defines the horizon
As the chilling bayou breeze carry
Salty and briney accents
Across the smooth, pastel shoreline
Where I ran to chase the sea.

Over my heavy laden shoulders streched
A canopy of sky embroidered with clouds,
The sun did not scorch;
Nor set the sky ablaze,
Evenly tempered with shadow shrouds.

The soles of my feet,
Sink, millimetre by millimetre,
Into the muck of the loosely, shifting sand;
Like ink into paper,
Absorbed, deeper and deeper.

The rushing sounds of waves,
Rhythmically crash into the shore,
Populate the crevasses of my mind,
Invades the hollow stores,
Resounding through my core.

The waves sway me back and forth,
Drawing in, stirring with energy,
Swirling like a whirlwind,
Consumed by the currents entirely,
Interlaced with the scarves of seawater.

My thoughts submerged into these waters,
I too delve into my emotions,
Freely moving as one with the ocean,
I am afloat in my imagination,
Drenched in the motion.

The moment of tranquility
Sweeps you over,
Peace ploughs through battering waves
As I am pulled further
From the coast of desired treasure.

The separation from circumstance,
Still, in the presence of chaos,
Bliss in the midst of uncertainty,
Found even when you are lost,
Alive and thriving at all cost.

Arms, wide open
Embraced by the tide,
My view is now- panoramic,
Eyes open wide,
With no limitations in my sight.
