Hello Little Girl

I woke up thinking about how life is and all the ideals I had as a child. All the misconceptions and disappointment I came across as life 'got real'. Here's to all the young one, the little ones and the ones about to discover life.

Disclaimer: I didn't write this with anyone in mind. I hope it doesn't offend any people groups. There is nothing wrong with having 'real' jobs, the point is the kind of people we become once we grow up.

Hello little girl,
Welcome to the real world,
Where not all is as white as pearl,
Let more tell you more little girl.

Look out these windows,
Do you see green meadows?
All I see are concrete shadows,
And people in search of El Dorados.

Not everything is as it seems,
Not everyone is chasing their dreams,
Most have lost their self esteems,
With stress just bursting at the seams.

Conversations laid out on the mat,
People Lost in their idle chit chat,
Oh look is another one having a spat,
About who fault it was for this and that.

So many have lost their smiles,
Their heads submerged in piles of files,
Endless work load that goes on for miles,
Their breath strangled tyrannical styles.

Where hath gone the heart and soul?
Where are those stories untold?
What happened to the courageous and bold?
Why has everyone become so cold?

Take this man for instance,
He is rushing madly from a distance,
Pushing through human traffic resistance,
Just to get approval of his existence.

And what for you ask?
Putting up walls and masks,
Consumed with lists and tasks,
People pleasing and doing what they ask.

All the human made competition,
Mundane work and repetition,
Losing ethics and realisation,
Endorsing worthless mortification.

Some choose to break the chains,
Challenge and go against the grain,
They choose to for go the self-gain,
Rewrite the rules and Forget the pain.

They speak up and make a stand,
Write songs and start a band,
Refuse to bow at every command,
Become misunderstood rebels of the land.

Relentlessly they spread their influences,
Awaking all those dead thoughts and senses,
Bracing to face the consequences,
Because its worth changing the masses.

So the real world is a such,
Made of the generation who have lost much,
The rat race and lost of humanity's touch,
Versus the ones who changes gear and releases the clutch.

So little girl you will grow and learn,
There will be times your passions burn,
But people around you will get stern,
Be strong and make your own turns.

Be the one who releases encouragement,
Make the better commitment,
Have a wholesome life filled with enrichment,
Let your heart be unstained and innocent.

The real world is unforgiving,
But if you are willing,
You be the one to go for your calling,
Make life fulfilling and worth living.
