Spaghetti and Meatballs Recipe

Spag and meatballs is one of my favourite dishes to cook. Here is a recipe written like poetry. Enjoy!

Here is a recipe for a rich, wholesome dish,
You could use any meat, maybe even fish...
Spaghetti and meatballs,
A yummy dish fit for all!

This will feed a small party,
Assuredly they will be filled and hearty,
Get about a kilo of meat,
The beef and chicken combo can't be beat.

Debone and mince it all finely,
Add salt and pepper, sparingly,
Mix in some oregano, thyme and basil,
Just a little so you wouldn't feel frazzled.

Add a heap tablespoon of flour,
Marinate for a good one hour,
As you wait, get a pot of water boiling,
Toss in a handful of garlic and onion for flavouring.

Roll the meatballs to a medium size,
Too big a ball will be your demise,
Drop them slowly into the pot,
Don't you worry, it can handle a lot.

Once it's cooked, drain them out,
Take heed of the heat or you will get burned and shout,
Cool the meats and simmer the stock,
Gently heat up oil and butter for the wok.

Finely chop a bulb of garlic and a big onion,
Plenty of tomatoes and mushrooms to compliment the union,
Fry the meatballs till golden brown,
Make sure the stock continues to simmer down.

Set aside those scrumptious spheres,
Get a new pot to boil the spaghetti my dear,
Bring the water to a boil,
With a dash of salt and olive oil.

Fry the garlic and onion till fragrant,
Add in Italian herbs, make sure it is abundant,
Now time for the mushrooms, get that nice sizzle,
Get more olive oil to drizzle.

Pop open a can of tomato paste,
Add in salt and pepper to taste,
Time to add that beautiful stock,
Don't forget about the pack of spaghetti as you talk.

Once the sauce is almost just right,
Tomatoes go in now so its not mushy to bite,
Get that spag out, rinse with cold water,
Toss with olive oil so it will be springy and taste better.

Time to serve that luscious pasta,
Plate it and enjoy that aroma,
Don't hold back on the meatballs and sauce,
Sprinkle that grated cheese on like a boss!

No one can resist a hot plate of goodness,
The balance between fresh and heaviness,
Enjoy the company and food,
Made with love that tastes so good.
